What does Managing Self look like when we are playing together?

The boys playing with the pirate stuff realised that they needed to keep their legs in so that there was a good space for things in the middle of the group.

If you want to make a structure with the noodles and skewers then you need a good space between you all.

Welcome to our team blog. We will post learning, thinking and working photos, comments and ideas as they happen throughout the year.

Our Inquiry learning is based on practicing and understanding the Key Competencies of the New Zealand Curriculum.

You will notice that each of our classrooms has a sub page as well. Look there for information, links and learning specific to each class. 

In these first few weeks we are practicing the Key Competencies of Managing Self and relating to Others.

The children using the pirate kit in Room 5 did a great job of  talking,co-operating, and sharing the 

equipment together.

Look at the different ways we can start with original resources or materials and use our imaginations to take them further.

Making wallets with pockets out of newsprint paper.

Patience and co-operation

We worked really well together at Exploration today.  We had to be patient and co-operate with our friends to share the equipment.  

Kindness

 We are using our kind words and taking turns so we can have fun together.  I wonder how big those bubbles will get?  What do you think the they are making with the construction poles?

          What can you do with some bamboo, a                                tarpaulin and some string?

 These bamboo poles are long. Watch out!

 Come on, let's put them here.

 That tarpaulin was tricky to put up. Great problem solving guys!
